Despite serious head and back injuries, rescuers believe his helmet saved him.
It happened in Pine Creek Canyon, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on Saturday, as reported by Need To Know.

A spokesperson for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said: “Initial reports indicated the climber had fallen an estimated 40 to 50 feet, resulting in severe head and back injuries.
“The victim’s climbing partner, along with a guide from another climbing party, was able to reach the climber and control the bleeding while awaiting search and rescue’s arrival.”
Authorities said the rescue took a total of seven hours with the victim being found 600 feet from the bottom.
Rescuers were airlifted to the injured climber.
They then established three separate stations to lower him to the ground.

Police added: “Once at the base of the route, volunteers assisted in carrying the stretcher to a suitable extraction point.
“Helicopter AIR3 then returned to the scene and extracted the victim and all rescue personnel.”
