A couple with a 37-year age-gap have restarted their hunt for a surrogate – for the fifth time.
Twenty-five-year-old Quran McCain and 62-year-old Cheryl McGregor have hit headlines many times over the past year, with the pair frequently going viral when sharing details from their relationship.
Last year the couple announced that they would be starting a family but months later, alleged that they had been scammed out of £7,000 by a potential surrogate – leaving them heartbroken.
Determined to have a child together, the couple, from Georgia, US, have now begun their search once again.
In a recent video, the husband and wife can be seen holding a laptop and appearing to do a search online.
They shared the footage with their three million TikTok followers ( ) – but not everyone has reacted well to the news.
“Trying to find our fifth surrogate with $5 left in our account,” the caption reads.
The pair – who often receive backlash due to their large age gap – have been slammed by some social media users.
One TikToker said: “If you only have $5 in your account you shouldn’t be having a baby.”
Another person added: “Don’t have kids if you can’t afford them.”
Someone else commented: “Will she be alive when the baby arrives?”
Others were more supportive of their family goals.
“Wish I could honestly help. Keep pushing.”
Another follower added: “I would offer to help but I’m not sure y’all close to me. I wish y’all the best!” [sic]
“Hope you guys fine someone,” someone else.
Quran and the grandmother-of-17 were left heartbroken in May after their fourth surrogate reportedly threw in the towel.
The unnamed woman was also allegedly in breach of their contract, with claims she had unprotected sex with her partner while the egg fertilised.
“At the moment it does feel like people are reaching out to us for the wrong reasons,” Quran previously claimed to http://NeedToKnow.co.uk .
“We’re completely broke. We don’t get paid for our content.
“And then the surrogate goes and bleeds us dry.
“We had paid for her food and travel and even gave her money for her and her family to enjoy Christmas.
“We wanted her to be happy as she was giving us the gift we’ve always wanted.
“It just feels like we’re always getting screwed over.”
Quran first met Cheryl in 2012 when he was just 15.
He worked at a fast-food restaurant managed by her son Chris, but romantic feelings didn’t blossom until much later.
The pair lost contact for a while but reconnected on 4 November 2020 when caretaker Quran saw mum-of-seven Cheryl working as a cashier at a convenience store.
Despite him being younger than one of her own children, the couple feel a connection on multiple levels and it doesn’t stop their chemistry.
After they got chatting again, Quran comforted Cheryl when she was upset about some negative comments on a TikTok video she posted of herself dancing.
Soon they were posting clips together on the site and it helped their relationship blossom, with the pair becoming a couple last April.
The relationship moved quickly, with Quran proposing at an Olive Garden restaurant in July 2021 with a $3,000 (£2,200) engagement ring.
