An influencer has undergone an ‘excruciating’ limb-lengthening procedure to be a little taller.
Yeferson Cossio shared footage of the operation on Instagram for his 10.9 million followers.
The 29-year-old said he learned about the procedure after suffering a problem with his legs in the past.
However, he admitted that he underwent the operation now for purely aesthetic reasons.
The influencer, who comes from Antioquia, Colombia, explained: “Two years ago, I had an issue with my legs that I don’t really want to talk about because it’s very personal.
“There was a lot of speculation and conspiracy type theories, which I didn’t really care for.
“But one of the things that had the most impact on me was to do with leg stretching.
“I looked into it, met with some people, and found that, yes, it exists.”
He added: “I got it into my head that I wanted to do it.”
Cossio said the operation is one of the most expensive and painful procedures anyone can undergo.
Although he doesn’t feel like he was a short person before, he said was interested in becoming a little taller.
He said the procedure can make someone grow between 5cm and 10cm taller than they were.

Cossio stated: “I’m 1.77m (5’8”).
“Reaching 1.87m (6’1”) seemed too much to me, but I’m going to stay around 1.83m (6’).”
He added: “Just as it’s the most painful operation, it is also one of the most expensive.”
The popular influencer reportedly paid between COP 200 million and 700 million (£39,915 and £139,688) for the treatment.
His surgeon pointed out that the operation is typically used to adjust malformations that leave one limb longer than the other or when a patient loses part of a limb in an accident.
He added that the treatment takes over four months from surgery to recovery.
The specialist said that Cossio will be able to carry out his daily activities as normal when he recovers, such as walking, exercising and playing football.

The video of Cossio’s treatment has gone viral on his Instagram page with nearly 320,000 views and over 6,000 comments.
He accompanied the clip with the message: “I underwent the most painful surgery in the entire world. Would you do it?”
One follower asked: “And when will his brain grow?”
Another commented: “Vanity at its best! All the money in the world couldn’t make this guy end up being happy.”
Someone else wrote: “They have so much money they don’t know what to spend it on… and so they do this nonsense.”
Samantha said: “That’s just a reflection of the emptiness you feel inside that not even money, surgery, or sex can fill.”
Laura remarked: “Incredible that he wants to be taller and not smarter.”
Matias commented: “My legs hurt just thinking about the pain. Have a good recovery, take care of yourself.”
