The FBI is looking to hire its latest special agent to join the force who will be permitted to use ‘deadly force’ when necessary.
A successful candidate will be obligated to carry a firearm at all times.
The special agent will be offered a salary of anywhere from $81,000 (£64,498) to $129,000 (£102,720) per year.

The role will see the agent work a minimum of 50 hours a week and will be based in multiple locations across the US.
All applicants must be United States citizens and will be subject to an in-depth security background check.
The ideal candidate must also be on top of their fitness, with the job role stating this as a major duty.
Applicants must also be between the ages of 23 and 37 upon applying.
The FBI listed the major duties as: “Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws.
“Exercise judgement, resourcefulness, and versatility in meeting investigative demands.
“Create and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial and international law enforcement agencies.
“Coordinate and/or participate in searches, seizures, and arrests.
“Carry a firearm and be willing to use force, to include deadly force, if necessary.
“Maintain a level of physical fitness to ensure readiness required to perform law enforcement duties.”
The job advert, reported by Need To Know, lists the key requirements as: “Be a U.S. citizen.
“Be eligible for a Top-Secret SCI Clearance.
“Be at least 23 years old and not have reached your 37th birthday on appointment; exceptions may apply.
“Have a bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.
“Have two years of full-time professional work experience.
“Meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
“Meet the medical and physical requirements of the position.
“Possess a valid driver’s licence with at least six months of driving experience.
“Be available for assignment to any of the FBI’s 56 Field Offices.
“Travel may be required.”
