A woman has been left with a lopsided and heavy frown dubbed a ‘Frankenbrow’ – which she claims is from Botox injections.
Gladys Santiago had previously had Botox with no issues, but after recently getting the treatment, she claims it has left her with an altered appearance.
The 42-year-old opted to have the injectable in her forehead for wrinkles, but says she felt as though her head had been “frozen”.

Initially putting it down to allergies, she noticed that her eye appeared to look smaller as a result, and the situation continued to develop.
She filmed a TikTok, which has since gone viral with 1.6 million views, sharing her experience and the change in her features.
“I feel a heaviness in my right eye and it doesn’t open up all the way,” Gladys, a business owner from Denver, Colorado, told Need To Know.

“It’s noticeably smaller than my left.
“At some angles it’s a little hard to see out of, but that’s been getting better because I’ve been massaging my forehead.”
She did some research to learn she has eyebrow ptosis – when the brow descends from its normal position.
Gladys, who had the procedure on 9 May, said she returned to the treatment place 10 days after, saying: “I spoke to a nurse at the spa, but she wasn’t helpful.
“The nurse said I wasn’t a good candidate for Botox because I have a small forehead.
“I didn’t believe her because I’ve had a number of Botox injections without any problems.
“I posted on TikTok to ask for advice and a lot of people have been very helpful.

“They’ve pointed out that the injector went too low on my forehead, which caused my eyebrow to sink.”
In the clip shared to TikTok, she can be seen looking at the camera, speaking about the situation and claims a discrepancy in her appearance post-treatment.
The clip was captioned: “Ptosis on my eye because of Botox,” and has garnered over 20,100 likes, as well as 2,600 comments.
Leslie said: “I had ‘Frankenbrow’ once. It was awful. Thank goodness it wears off…”
Someone else commented: “It’s a bad injector, or injector error. I’m sorry this happened to you, but it’s not the amount of units it is the PLACEMENT of the units.”
Amy added: “I thought this just happens when they inject you in the wrong muscle, not a side effect? But an injection mistake.”
Mary wrote: “This happened to me, my eyebrow drooped and my eyelid felt heavy. It went away after a few weeks – I hope it passes quickly friend.”

Another user said: “This happened to me twice! Never getting it again.”
Katie commented: “Stimulation of the muscle can help reduce the duration of the ptosis.
Try use the back of an electric toothbrush over the affected muscle.”
Kristin added: “Had the same thing! Freaked me out. Got Botox for migraines and this is what happened.”
Someone else wrote: “Happened to me on both eyebrows. It was a heaviness as well. I taped my forehead up when alone. It did go back to normal after 6 months tho!”

Now, Gladys says the heaviness has worn off a bit, but her eye still isn’t the same.
She said: “I haven’t been able to get any eye drops, which I’ve been told help open up the eye.
“I’m just going to have to wait until the Botox wears off in a few months.
“I understand ptosis is a risk with Botox.
“I’m relieved it’s temporary.
“I’ve been trying to have a sense of humour about it, so I’ve enjoyed making videos poking fun at my botched Botox.
“Luckily it’s summer so I’ll just be wearing sunglasses a lot more!”
