A man has appeared in court accused of murdering two men whose remains were discovered in suitcases at Bristol’s Clifton Suspension Bridge and a London flat.
Yostin Andres Mosquera, residing on Scotts Road in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, faces charges for the murders of Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71.
The alleged crimes occurred between July 8 and 10 in Hammersmith and Fulham, London.

Mosquera, 34, spoke only to confirm his personal details during the court session. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled for a subsequent hearing at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
According to the Metropolitan Police, both victims were acquainted with Mosquera, who had been temporarily staying at their flat.
Albert Alfonso was originally from France but held British citizenship, while Paul Longworth was British.
Although the investigation has not uncovered evidence of a homophobic motive, the case is being treated as a hate crime under national guidelines, subject to review if new evidence surfaces.
Authorities are also investigating any potential related offences or incidents both within the UK and internationally to fully understand the circumstances.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine stated, “While the investigation is ongoing and still at an early stage, we are not currently seeking any other suspects.
Officers have collaborated with the pan-London LGBTQ+ Independent Advisory Group (IAG) since identifying the victims and their sexuality. Their guidance and support have been invaluable to the investigation.”
