A 30-year-old squaddie tragically died when his girlfriend “accidentally” hit his motorbike with her car.
Andrei Tăbăcaru and his partner, Laura, were travelling in the same direction in adjacent lanes early on Sunday (27 Oct) evening.
According to the police, she allegedly hit him while changing lanes.

After being hit, Andrei crashed his motorcycle into a pole on the roadside in Galați, Romania.
He died at the scene and first responders were unable to revive him.

Mihai Polinschi of the Galați Ambulance told local media: “He was in cardiac arrest and was declared dead due to the severity of his injuries.”
Laura, 34, was breathalysed but no alcohol was detected on her breath.
Andrei was a soldier in a battalion of the Romanian Armed Forces and also worked as a personal trainer at a local gym.
Laura – a mum of one – is also a military officer and is now under investigation for manslaughter.

She told local media: “It’s an ongoing investigation, and I’m not sure if I’m allowed to talk about it.
“I really can’t because it’s all very difficult. A terrible accident happened.”
Despite Laura’s “accident” claim, detectives believe the couple may have had a heated argument before the collision.
One line of investigation they are considering is road rage.
However, Andrei’s colleague Ionuț Pavăl told local media: “The type of motorcycle Andrei was riding is a fast one.
“If you hit the accelerator, you can reach quite a high speed in just a few seconds.
“This makes it almost impossible for other road users to see you. It all happens in a matter of seconds.
“She barely grazed him.”
Ionuț added: “His girlfriend is a nice girl. There were never any problems between them.

“It’s a shame for her. Nobody wants to be in her shoes right now.
“There’s no greater punishment than what she’s going through.”
Laura and Andrei had been together for three years.
Andrei was laid to rest with military honours on Wednesday (30 Oct), as reported by Need To Know.
His parents, brother, and Laura were in attendance, and she was seen embracing his mother.
