A vandal mindlessly destroyed a floral display in a historic town unaware he was caught on camera.
The ponytailed culprit was seen laying into the bloom boxes.
He clambered onto one of them and stomped over its plants.

He then took off a shoe and used it to hack at another one.
The bizarre attack happened just after midnight in Old Town, Bideford, Devon.
Locals were furious, as reported by Need To Know.
Sue James said: “Bring back the stocks.”

Julian Fwaddar Chiu added: “Bring back public flogging
Pete Grantham added: “I can think of something he needs.
“Makes my blood boil.
“Community service 100 hours tending all the council flower beds.
“Probably get told not to do it again.”
Angela Crossley said: “How disheartening for those that work so hard to make our town look better.

“Everyone enjoys the displays of blooms.
“This is just mindless destruction for the sake of it.”
And Yvonne Sewell added: “Such a shame.
“Why does he feel the need to destroy all of these plant pots?
“When so many kind volunteers have spent hours to produce for so many people to admire and enjoy for him to trash.
“He should be made accountable.”
Devon and Cornwall were not called to the attack on Monday (26 May)..


Bideford is a historic town on the estuary of the River Torridge.
It is renowned for Andrew’s Dole custom dating from 1605.
In that year, the Mayor of Bideford, Andrew Dole, established a trust to provide for loaves of bread to be distributed to poor, elderly, persons who applied at the Mayor’s Parlour.
The custom continues to this day and takes place on New Year’s Day.
He also left some land to trustees and the income is distributed to 10 deserving people, for each trustee
