A dead kitten was found dumped in a Primark shopping bag with a sinister warning note.
The three-week-old moggy was discovered inside the carrier, alongside a dress and a pair of curtains.
The bag had been cable tied shut with a chilling message scrawled on it reading: “Don’t touch. Dead cats.”

Bizarrely, the note also included the kitten’s birth and death dates – July 10 to July 29 – along with drawings of a cross, hearts and a sad face.
The body of the poor puss was found in Cobden Street, Salford, Gtr Mancs on 8 August, as reported by Need To Know.

RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer Kate Sargent said: “The black and white kitten was only around two to three weeks old and had flea dirt on their fur so possibly could have died from an infestation of fleas and anemia.
“As well as the writing on the bag, the note also had a drawing of a cross, love hearts, a sad face and presumably the birth and death dates of the kitten which were 10 July to 29 July.

“The kitten wasn’t microchipped so we haven’t been able to trace an owner and are keen to find out what happened to this poor cat.
“If anyone saw anything in the area please contact the inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018 in strictest confidence and quote reference 1600140.”

The RSPCA said it dealt with over 30,000 cruelty calls to its emergency line during the summer months – up by a third on the year before.
The charity has now launched its Summer Cruelty Appeal urging the public to help them continue rescuing animals in need.
