A mother was killed in a Wild West-style shootout after trying to remove her daughter from a travellers camp.
Dolores Dori went with her husband, her mother, and her 16-year-old son.
They had travelled to bring back Dolores’s 23-year-old daughter, who had moved to the camp against the family’s wishes.

The daughter was in a relationship with a 20-year-old camp resident – opposed by her family – despite being engaged to another man.
They went last Thursday (2 Oct) from their home in Camponogara, near Venice, Italy.
According to police, the group drove through the camp gate in Lonato del Garda, near Lake Garda.
Moments later, Dolores, 44, and her mother, 59, allegedly opened fire.
A camp resident – yet to be identified – returned fire, it is understood.
Dolores was hit in the leg and abdomen with three bullets.
Her husband took her to Desenzano del Garda and left her outside A&E.
She later died during a delicate operation, as reported by Need To Know.
After leaving his wife, the husband and the teenager appeared in a video threatening the alleged killer.
Holding a pistol, the widower said: “If you’re willing to fight, I’ll take you down.
“If you don’t send her back home, we’ll come and take her ourselves.”
Police have since seized two bullet‑ridden cars used in the confrontation between Dolores’s family and her daughter’s boyfriend’s family.
They have also released footage of the shootout, recorded by Dolores’s son on his phone.
The teenager and Dolores’s mother have been taken into custody, while Dolores’s husband remains at large.
They face charges of jointly committing aggravated attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms, and making threats.
The camp was evacuated and sealed off by police on Friday (3 Oct).
A Carabinieri spokesperson said: “The motive for the crime appears to be a personal dispute between Sinti families over a romantic matter involving their children.”
Sinti are a subgroup of the Romani people, mostly found in Germany, France, Italy, and Central Europe.
“Investigations are ongoing to fully reconstruct the events and identify those responsible,” they added.
