A teenage girl has vanished after she boarded a flight to meet a man she met through an online video game.
Lucero Alejandra Encino Rodríguez left her home at 6:30 am, telling her mum she was heading to school – but she never arrived.
It later emerged that the 18-year-old had taken personal belongings with her.

At 2:02 pm, she messaged her mother saying she was “leaving home” and asked her not to worry – before blocking her family’s numbers and deleting all her social media accounts.
Flight records show Lucero boarded a plane from Guadalajara, Mexico, at 2:17 pm, landing in Mexico City at 3:55 pm on 27 October.

The following day, her mother received a chilling text from an unknown number registered in Xaltianguis, Acapulco, claiming Lucero was fine and warning the family not to look for her.
Friends say Lucero, from Zapopan, had told them she planned to meet a man known only as “Chris”, who she’d met through the mobile game Free Fire.
She allegedly said she would marry him and travel to the US on a “marriage visa”, as reported by Need To Know.
She’s believed to have been accompanied to the airport by someone who knew about her plan.
Her mum, who has not been named, told local media: “She met him on social media through a video game – that’s how they started talking, but she never met him in real life.

“This so-called boyfriend bought her a plane ticket and told her he would take her to Texas so they could get married in February.”
Like Lucero, the man’s social media accounts have vanished.
Her family now fears she may have been taken to another state – or even out of the country.
Authorities say Lucero is considered vulnerable, as she reportedly suffers from mixed anxiety-depressive disorder and hyperkinetic disorder.
The search for Lucero continues.
