The shocking interaction took place during England’s thrilling 3-2 victory against Mexico at the Azteca Stadium, as reported by Need To Know.
In the clip, two fans staring at Bentley both make the cut throat gesture towards the star.
The ex-footballer sat in the mixed section where police officers stood between the two sets of supporters.
In true English fashion, Bentley responded in a jovial manner shaking his wrist and calling the fan a “w*nker”.
The ex-England player, who has seven caps for the Three Lions, labelled the Mexican’s behaviour as a “red card” offence.
David Bentley said: “Red Card! Getting tasty now.
“10 men in the Azteca.
“Might be better than Bentley from the half way line.”
Despite the daggers from opposing fans, Bentley was celebrating in style after the full whistle.
Sharing a number of clips on his social media, the former footballer from Peterborough was spotted dancing with a troop of Three Lions supporters.
The set of fans marched through the concourse of the Azteca with a trumpet and drums.
The wild celebrations went on into the night in Mexico after 10-man England confirmed their place in the quarter-finals in dramatic style.
