Her body was located by the Aguán River in the city of Tocoa, Honduras, yesterday (16 April).
Her family had reported her as missing the night before the grim discovery.
In a swift response, the National Police of Honduras confirmed the detention of three suspects in connection with the killing.
One suspect, identified as the victim’s boyfriend, has reportedly confessed to his involvement.
In a chilling statement to local outlets, he claimed he was “forced” to do it by a criminal gang who snatched them earlier in the day.
The young man, named as Adonis Martínez, added: “I want to confess everything, I was forced to do things I didn’t want to do.
“If I didn’t do what they told me, they were going to kill me.”
Family members described Katy as a hardworking young woman who modelled for various brands and supported her family.

The authorities stated that the suspects will be transferred to a high-security facility while the case is prepared for trial.
A police spokesperson said: “We are following multiple lines of investigation to ensure all those responsible face justice.”
Fans have flooded the influencer’s final TikTok videos with tributes, noting how “life can change in an instant”.
In her final upload on the day of her death, Katy was filmed dancing to the song ‘I’m Still in Love with You’ by Sean Paul.
The caption read: “Someone will come along who’ll tell me ‘you’re complicated, but you’re worth it, my love’.”
Katy’s violent death marks the 71st recorded femicide in Honduras in 2026 alone, as reported by Need To Know.
The investigation continues.
