Cameras have been rolling on the first shoot for the six-episode series on the Channel Island of Jersey.
It has been commissioned by BBC-owned broadcaster UKTV and is directed by Peaky Blinders director Colm McCarthy.
It stars Damien Moloney as the titular DS Bergerac alongside veteran actors Zoë Wanamaker and Philip Glenister.

And Moloney was spotted as crews set up at the Royal Square in the capital St Helier for a scene in a market.
A video of the filming shows an actor thought to be Jersey native Timothy Renouf in a cream jacket and trousers carrying a green bag walking purposefully across the market.
A camera crew can be seen recording the action as instructions were issued, as reported by Need To Know.
John Nettles played the original Bergerac in the 1980s show created by Robert Banks Stewart.
He is reported to have refused a cameo role in the reboot.
Fans of the show welcomed the filming.
Nial Forsyth said: “I loved the original show, I have watched it so many times. I hope this is good and does more than one season now it needs a certain Jersey resident to be in it.”
And Linda Sanaee added: “That’s really good news. I liked the old Bergerac.”
The show will be available on free to air channel U&DRAMA and free streaming service U next year.
