Crooks broke into a Greggs to steal grub and £100 from the till.
They broke the door to gain entry at 4am yesterday (10 Sept).
Police forensics officers were spotted searching the bakery for evidence.
One used a torch to inspect the door while wearing purple latex gloves.
Another was seen inside the bakery in Junction Road, Archway, Islington, north London.
A sign on the door read: “Shop not open due to break-in.
“Doors not closing.”
A police van was also seen parked outside, as reported by Need To Know.
A source said: “They stole coins from the tills, approximately £100 was taken and stock from the fridges.
“The store has a huge problem with theft during the day also.
“The money which was loose change in the tills. They took the whole till draw when they broke in.”
Another joked: “Crime scene investigation for 12 missing sausage rolls.”
May Smith quipped: “Not a crumb of evidence was left.”
Yet a fourth added: “Shows how hard up people are now.
One local said: “It’s an excuse for no morals.”
“I’ve seen people in the daytime walk in and walk out with food in the daytime.”
In April, a brazen man walked out of the same branch of Greggs – famous for its Steak Bakes – with handfuls of food and drinks.
The Met Police and Greggs have been approached for comment.
