A cat has been reunited with her owners two years after suddenly going missing from her home.
Spot the moggy disappeared from her Aberdeen home in 2023, leaving her family devastated.
But, unbeknown to them, she had been making her way around the countryside and surviving on her own ever since, as reported by Need To Know.

Incredibly, she was found by chance when a member of the public found Spot with an injured leg and called the Scottish SPCA to help.
A team member went to check on the poorly pet, and a routine check found she was microchipped – with her owners’ details still up to date.

Within hours, the cat enjoyed a “heartfelt reunion” with her family.
Her owners shared: “She’s doing great and absolutely loving being back home.
“She’s coping well and is now living a happy life as a house cat.”
Spot has received veterinary care – including the amputation of one of her back legs – but is recovering well and is “adjusting brilliantly” to life on three legs.

Scottish SPCA Animal Rescue Officer, Lynn Cruickshank, said: “This is exactly why we always encourage pet owners to microchip their animals and keep their contact details current.
“Spot’s story could have ended very differently if she wasn’t microchipped. Thanks to that small chip, she’s now back where she belongs.”
