A man was swept 17 miles down a raging canal after he lost his footing and tumbled into the water.
The unnamed walker was rescued by emergency services on Tuesday (10 Jun) after officers rushed to the scene with ropes and lifebuoys, as reported by NeedToKnow.
The man lost his footing while walking beside the canal.

He tried to fight the current but due to the speed of the water, police had to use a combination of cars and electric bikes to chase him along the waterway.
Video showed him being dragged along as two men threw a rope at him.
After 35 minutes, he was finally pulled from the water and taken to a hospital for treatment.
He suffered no major injuries.
According to local press, police received a call at about 8pm from someone who said a person had fallen into a canal.
Authorities have urged residents to stay cautious around local waterways.
During the summer months, canal currents can be stronger.
The canal was in Sangzhu Town, Pishan County, a town in Hotan Prefecture located in the Tarim Basin region of southwestern Xinjiang, China.
