Officials at Medellín Airport, Colombia, suspected the US citizens had come to the country for sex tourism.
All four were returned on flights arranged by their airlines, with three sent back to Panama City and the fourth to Miami, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson for Migración Colombia, the agency responsible for immigration control, said: “Amid strengthened immigration checks in Antioquia and decisive action against sexual tourism.

“Four travellers from the United States were denied entry after giving inconsistent answers and carrying items suggesting possible sexual tourism activities in Medellín.
“During the checks, officials found that the travellers could not coherently explain the purpose of their visit.
“In one case, a traveller was found with an unusually large number of condoms and sexual items in their luggage, confirming their intentions and prompting immediate denial of entry.”
Medellín mayor Fico Gutiérrez added: “That brings the total to 102 people denied entry since 2024 and so far in 2025.

“Here, we protect our children.”
So far this year, nearly 70 suspected sex tourists have been denied entry to Colombia in the Antioquia region alone, most of them US citizens.
Migración Colombia director general Gloria Esperanza Arriero said, “We will not allow Colombia to become a destination for those who pose a threat to children.
“Our fight against the sexual exploitation of children, adolescents, and women is absolute and ongoing.”
