A sticky fingered thief has been spotted breaking into a café stealing change, a secret Santa gift and 12 candles.

CCTV footage spotted one man pocket a range of bizarre items following a break in.

The suspect made use of a breeze block to smash his way inside of the café – which was forced to close due to damage.

The thief’s haul included a small amount of change, a card machine, 12 candles and a secret Santa gift.

The break in took place at Toast café on Derby Road, Nottingham, as reported by Need To Know.

Around 2am security cameras spotted a man in a hooded coat making his way through the building pocketing items.

The burglary took place on 20 Dec, with the café closing partially over the busy Christmas period.

The secret Santa gift contained a notepad and pens.

Nottingham Police are now pleading with members of the public to help identify the man.

PC Jak Walker, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a very traumatic incident for the owners of Toast during a busy period just before Christmas.

“The person responsible caused so much damage to the property that they had no other option but to close.

“Businesses like Toast rely on the Christmas period and we are determined to catch the person responsible for this absolutely despicable crime.

“We are carrying out a number of lines of inquiry including forensics, but we would really like to talk to the person in this footage.

“Do you know the man in the picture? Are you the man in the picture? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
