A car was left suspended in the air after it crashed into a wall and ironically a tow truck.
The driver veered off the residential road and smashed into the brick work.
The wall in front of a house was partially knocked down.
The red, C-class Mercedes suffered major damage with the back bumper left hanging off
But the car recovery vehicle miraculously escaped serious damage.
It then became wedged between the two.
The bizarre accident happened in Newport, Isle of Wight on 6 September.
Two people in the car were taken to St Mary’s Hospital for checks but were not seriously injured.
Cops closed off the road while firefighters used steadfast devices to stabilise the car before it was removed.
Local Mary Ralph said: “Obviously something drove him up the wall.
“Seriously though, I hope all involved are okay.”
Maxine Hellmuth added: “Perhaps the car was trying to put itself on the truck.
“Got it a bit wrong.
“At least recovery is to hand.”
John Wood quipped: “You can’t park there mate.”
Claire Downer joked: “Easily done.”
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We were called at 9am on 6 September to a report of a collision on Fairlee Road between a car and a recovery truck.
“Minor injuries were reported. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters from Newport and Ryde attended an RTC involving two vehicles at Fairlee Road, Newport.
“The crews stabilised one of the vehicles and made the scene safe.
“Two people were passed into the care of the ambulance service.
“The initial call came in at 9.04am and crews left the scene at 9:45am.”
An Isle of Wight NHS Trust spokesperson said: “One ambulance was sent to the scene and two people were conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.”
