A woman was shot dead after sharing a post from another user that read: “Merry Christmas, just in case I get killed in the coming days.”
Yuleisi Briyith Jiménez Vásquez was lying on her bed at home when she was spooked by a noise.
A man pulled up outside her home and gained entry.
Yuleisi, 20, got up only to come face-to-face with the gunman.
Without saying a word, he fired a single bullet at her.
She was blasted in the face.
He then sped away from the scene riding pillion with the biker who had been waiting outside for him.
Horrified neighbours rushed Yuleisi to a local hospital in Barranquilla, Colombia, but medics couldn’t save her on Sunday (26 Nov).
Police are now trying to establish if it was a coincidence or if she truly suspected her pending fate.
One line of investigation is that the killing was a settling of scores.
It is believed she had been receiving death threats from the organised crime gang Los Papalópez.
They reportedly started after she became romantically involved with a man named Jhonny (corr) Alfonso Manjarrez Polo.
Better known in the criminal underworld as Guasón, or Joker, Manjarrez reportedly served as the “chief of hitmen” for rival gang Los Pepes.
The investigation continues.
