A man suffering from a tummy ache had a huge metal cylinder removed from gut.

The man had gone into hospital complaining of acute stomach pain.

Medics gave the 32-year-old an ultrasound and X-ray.

They were baffled when it revealed the huge foreign body in his stomach.

He was anaesthetised and taken to the operating room.

Dr Shiv Shankar Shahi and his team successfully removed the bottle-shaped object.

The man reportedly refused to explain how the massive cylinder had ended up in his gut.

Medics said he was doing well following the op in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Local media reported on Sunday (18 Feb) that he was expected to be discharged in the coming days.

The hospital is withholding his name.

Experts warn that gastrointestinal foreign bodies can cause bleeding, abscess formation, mediastinal perforation or puncture, and damage to the organs.
