Sir Paul McCartney’s boots which he wore at the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony are set to sell for £15,000.

The Beatles legend had the size eight Cuban heels made for his On The Run tour the previous year.

The 81-year-old is now flogging them to raise money for his Meat-Free Monday campaign.

Sir Paul sang Hey Jude as the last song of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games 12 years ago.

The boots are a vegan version of the leather heeled boots worn by The Beatles in the 1960’s.

They are made of alter-mat – which is a vegan alternative to animal leather.

The funds will go towards the musician’s Meat-Free Monday campaign which he set up alongside his daughters Mary and Stella in 2009.

He is selling the boots to mark the campaign’s 15 year anniversary.

The listing reads: “Made for the On The Run World Tour, the pair of bespoke black boots produced by shoe-maker Steven Lowe of Crispinians, with design modifications from Paul.

”Each boot with ankle fastening, inner side zip and rubber sole.

”Accompanied by a letter signed by Paul McCartney on personalised letter-headed paper, Size eight.”
